Tasting notes

This beautiful cuvée, from a special terroir, is only produced in exceptional years. Its dark red colour has deep, almost black highlights.

As is to be expected, this wine is powerful, noble and pure but not easy to engage with, all the more so in dense, distinguished millésimes like 2013. Nevertheless, with slight movement the sweet spices and black fruit reveal themselves and suggest a bright future. Cocoa beans and strawberry liqueur reveal a solid character which time will rein in.

The palate is powerful, with tannins that are still tightly knit after a long élevage, but necessary to harness and subdue this spirited wine. The balance between its vigour, its freshness and its sucrosité is perfect and we believe it best to wait a number of years for it to fully reveal its potential.

It is worth waiting as it has the capacity to reveal so much. It will be a majestic accompaniment to highly flavoured dishes, powerful meats with spices and with elaborate sauces.
