Crozes-Hermitage Les Pierrelles 2012 Tasting notes This clear, bright wine is a beautiful cherry-red with purple glints. The nose is very open, with black fruit and other appetising notes. Then a medley of red fruit and sweet spices takes precedence, harmoniously blending the indulgence with more full-bodied notes. The palate is full and straightforward. Suppleness dominates from the attack. Sweet spices and marshmallow prolong the sensations provided in the nose. The tannins bring a smoothness and depth to round-off the palate. The finish is long with good balance, and without heaviness. This cuvee is both delicate and suave. It can be enjoyed now and for the next 4 years. Quite simply as an aperitif or married with grilled red meat; lamb with herbs, for example, or roast rabbit.
