Crozes-Hermitage Roche Pierre 2012

Tasting notes

This Roche Pierre cuvée has a beautiful deep, intense robe, so full of colour it is almost black. Ruby red glints with violet notes bear witness to its youth.

The nose is already open, complex and voluble. It opens quickly with notes of ripe fruit, glacé cherry, wild blackberry and freshly picked raspberry. However, black fruit are dominant initially. Then, as it breathes, its long maturation in French Oak barrels allows it to develop roasted nuances, with balsamic notes and discrete touches of sweet spice.

This wine really comes into its own in the palate. It is both virile and gentle, robust and elegant. The tannins are rich and full-bodied, but softened by a certain sucrosity. A cuvée that we only produce when we judge it able to honour the values of the domaine.

To enjoy then with red meats, stews, pigeon and other small game.
